EXTENSION OF AGREEMENTS HELD BETWEEN THE W&RSETA AND STAKEHOLDERS AS A RESULT OF COVID-19 NATIONAL LOCKDOWN

DEPARTMENT OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND TRAINING (DHET) SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITIES (SETAS) COVID-19 DIRECTIVE

Stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA will continue to pay learner stipends during the COVID-19 lockdown in line with the SETAs COVID-19 directive from the Department of Higher Education and Training.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE/EMPLOYER RELIEF SCHEME (TERS) FOR COVID-19

Employers and employees that are distress due to the COVID-19 are encouraged to apply for the COVID-19 TERS special benefit under the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF).

The Department of Higher Education and Training has published the SETA COVID-19 Guidelines to provide direction on the operations of the SETAs during the national lockdown.

Disaster Management Act Regulations on COVID-19

DISASTER MANAGEMENT ACT REGULATIONS

The Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has published regulations on President Ramaphosa’s declaration of a national disaster in the wake of the COVID-19 (corona virus) outbreak in line with the Disaster Management Act.

Stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA has not endorsed, approved, partnered with or mandated any service provider on our behalf to provide assistance to stakeholders in the midst of COVID- 19. Please be cautious of any emails or messages purporting to have been approved or endorsed by the W&RSETA.
