The Limpompo Mpumalanga region is operating as a one stop shop where Wholesale and Retail stakeholders go in and get information about the skills development imperatives.

Activities:
WSP/ATR Processes

The 2007/2008 WSP/ATR mandatory grant submission process has been successfully completed. The regional office is currently conducting verification visits on all submissions, and we would therefore like to appeal to our stakeholders to be patient with us as required by the grant regulations.
Learnership Phase V

The W&RSETA implemented its fifth learnership project referred to as phase V learnership project during the financial year 2006/2007. The regional office is in the process of consolidating the activities leading to the certification of learners adjudged competent.
Discretionary Grant 2006/07

Out of the six (6) Discretionary Grant Funding Windows, the regional office participated in four funding windows, namely SMME support, Sector Skills Priorities, ABET and Learning programmes. SMME support and Sector Skills Priorities funding windows have been closed, while ABET and Learning programmes funding windows still to be finalized.
Stakeholder Liaison

The regional office has established strategic partnerships with a number of stakeholders in the region. We are participating in both the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provincial Skills Development Forums. We have established wholesale and Retail stakeholder forums for Limpopo and Mpumalanga to enhance the W&RSETA presence in the region.
Outreach Programmes and advocacy campaigns

The regional office continuously conducts outreach programmes in the form of exhibitions with the intention of making the public aware of our mandate.
RPL

We are currently in the process of streamlining activities and processes that will facilitate the implementation of Recognition of prior learning within the Wholesale and Retail sector.
