Welcome to W&RSETA

The Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA) was established in 2000 in terms of the Skills Development Act (as amended). The public entity aims to facilitate the skills development needs of the Wholesale and Retail (W&R) Sector through the implementation of learning programmes, disbursement of grants and monitoring of education and training as outlined in the National Skills Development Plan (NSDP).

SETAs are entities of the Department of Higher Education and Training. There are 21 SETAs; each servicing a specific economic sector of the Country.

CALL FOR RESEARCH THEMES OR TOPICS: W&RSETA RESEARCH AGENDA UPDATE

The W&RSETA invites all stakeholders to submit proposals for themes or topics for the 2023/24 W&RSETA Research Agenda. The Research Agenda aims to improve the quality of labour market data and information that will enable effective and responsive skills development programmes in the Wholesale and Retail Sector.

The W&RSETA calls on stakeholders in the Wholesale and Retail Sector to submit nominations for members to be part of the Occupational Qualification Development Working Group.

W&RSETA-registered wholesale and retail companies are invited to nominate eligible visionary and strategic leaders for the 2023/24 ILDP that will be offered from March 2024.

SECTOR SKILLS PLANNING ONLINE SURVEY

Stakeholders in the Wholesale and Retail Sector are invited to participate in the W&RSETA Sector Skills Planning (SSP) online survey with the purpose of gathering insights on the Wholesale and Retail Sector’s skills demands as well as identifying skills and training needs required to drive growth and impact.  The survey is being incorporated into the SSP engagement process to validate and update data to ensure that the SSP is based on accurate and up-to-date information.
