The W&RSETA collaborates with wholesale and retail companies to provide workplace opportunities to TVET college, university of technology and university graduates in order to prepare graduates for the world of work. The programme is for a duration of 12 and 18 months depending on the qualification.
Who Qualifies For The W&RSETA Workplace Experience Programme?
Students from TVET colleges, universities and universities of technology who require practical experience (internship) to complete their qualifications or require workplace exposure are eligible for the programme. To qualify, students must be studying or have completed qualifications that are related to wholesale and retail such as IT, finance, accounting, HR, marketing, logistics, supply chain, etc.
The W&RSETA provides stipends to HET and TVET graduates as well as interns as follows:
- HET degree graduates: R5000 for 12 months
- HET diploma graduates: R4500 for 12 months
- TVET N6 graduates: R4500 for 12 months
- TVET N6 Interns: R3000 for 18 months
How Do You Apply For The W&RSETA Workplace Experience Programme?
The W&RSETA does not offer workplace experience or internship programmes to graduates and students directly. The SETA provides funding to wholesale and retail companies to implement these programmes. Graduates and students must apply directly to these companies when they advertise or contact them to find out about their opportunities.
