MANDATORY GRANT APPLICATIONS – 2021/22

W&RSETA stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA is providing grant funding for additional stipends for unemployed learners enrolled in learnerships who have been receiving stipends during the COVID-19 national lockdown and whose training period was extended as a result of the lockdown. Only companies that continued to pay stipends during the lockdown when training did not take place, and subsequently extended the learning period with the number of months lost due to the lockdown may apply for the grant. Applications should be made by 29 January 2021.

The wholesale and retail companies are invited to submit expression of interest to provide workplace exposure for the Higher Education and Training (HET) lecturers based on the Occupational Qualification: Retail Store Manager, SAQA 91789. A need has been identified to capacitate HET lecturers through exposure to the practical operations of the Wholesale and Retail Sector. Stakeholders must note that the training capacitation programme will take 5 days and must be completed between 8 and 19 March 2021.
Stakeholder companies are reminded to apply for the COVID-19 Support Grant for PPE and data for unemployed learners who are currently enrolled on the SETA’s programmes.
The criteria has been reviewed and simplified to encourage companies to apply for the grants.
