Stakeholders requested to refer to the notice on bulk uploads on the Management Information System for Annexure II submissions. The notice also provides and update on implementation of the 2020/2021 Discretionary Grants in line with the review of the W&RSETA’s Annual Performance Plan due to COVID-19.

Stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA will continue to pay learner stipends during the COVID-19 lockdown in line with the SETAs COVID-19 directive from the Department of Higher Education and Training.

The W&RSETA requests stakeholders to note arrangements that have been implemented with respect to Annexure II processes and signing of grant claim forms as well as clarity on the payment of learner stipends and UIF claims during the national lockdown.

The W&RSETA is in the process of finalising the reprioritisation of the 2020/2021 APP for approval by the Minister. This is as a result of the impact of COVID-19 on the SETAs and the industry. The SETA has also reviewed the implementation roadmap to address concerns and other input from stakeholders on the implementation of training in the sector as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Skills Development Providers are notified about the measures that have been put in place for the delivery of learning during the COVID-19 lockdown in line with the directive from the QCTO.

W&RSETA-accredited Skills Development Providers (SPDs) are informed of the measures for the phasing-in of learners for physical classroom training in the workplace or provider training sites in in line with government’s risk adjusted strategy for the COVID-19 lockdown.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Nzimande has gazetted the regulations on the reopening of institutions offering qualifications registered on the Occupational Qualifications Sub-framework as part of government’s Risk-adjusted Strategy to deal with COVID-19.
The notice provides directives for the gradual reopening of learning institutions to address, prevent and combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
