SME DISCRETIONARY GRANT 2020/21 FUNDING WINDOW
Eligible wholesale and retail small and medium companies are invited to apply for the 2020/21 Discretionary Grants to implement non-PIVOTAL training programmes (non-credit bearing interventions). Funding is available only to companies that are registered with the Companies and Intellectual Properties Commission (CIPC) and operate in the Wholesale and Retail Sector irrespective of whether they have the SDL Number or not.
The closing date for application is 31 August 2020.
RE: W&RSETA COVID-19 ECONOMIC SURVEY FOR SMALL MEDIUM ENTERPRISE
Small and Medium Enterprises within the Wholesale and Retail Sector are invited to participate in the W&RSETA COVID-19 economic survey. SMEs are kindly requested to complete 7-minute survey which focuses on questions related to the economic, labour market and skills development impact of COVID-19.
W&RSETA BURSARY SCHEME 2021
The W&RSETA invites public and private TVET and HET institutions to apply for the W&RSETA Bursary Scheme to be offered on undergraduate programmes for the 2021 academic year. Applications will close on 31 August 2020 and must be submitted to the SETA’s provincial offices.

2020/2021 Annexure II SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED
Stakeholders are informed that Minister Nzimande has extended the submission date for the 2020/2021 Annexure II documents which was closed on 31 May 2020. Eligible wholesale and retail companies can make submissions on the W&RSETA Management Information System on www.wrsetaonline.org.za by 31 July 2020. Stakeholders can contact their respective regional offices for related queries.
HEAD OFFICE CLOSURE DUE TO COVID-19
Stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA’s Head Office in Centurion will be temporarily closed from 7 July 2020 until further notice for decontamination following a positive COVID-19 test for one of our employees. The W&RSETA is managing the case in line with the COVID-19 protocols and plan to ensure the safety of our employees and stakeholders.
We continue to encourage stakeholders to engage with us electronically via email or telephonically in order to manage the risk of infection.
MEASURES TO ADDRESS DELAYS IN PAYMENT OF CLAIMS FROM THE DG 19/20 PROJECT
Participating companies in the SME DG 19/20 project are hereby informed about the measures that the W&RSETA has implemented to expedite the payment of claims from the project.

LEARNER REGISTRATIONS FOR 2020/2021 PROJECTS
Stakeholders are informed that the W&RSETA’s due date for the registration of learners for all 2019/2020 projects has been extended to 31 July 2020.
