Wholesale and retail employers, business associations, labour organisations, institutions of learning and training providers are called upon to inform the W&RSETA 2025/26 annual SSP update through the annual engagement sessions. This process will enable stakeholders to provide input on the economic and labour market information, the collective efforts to strengthen and grow the sector and the required interventions.
The applications for qualified candidates to participate in sector-specific research on skills demand and supply in the W&RSETA Wholesale and Retail Leadership Chairs have been extended to 9 May 2025. The research will analyse the factors shaping skills requirements within the Wholesale and Retail Sector, with a focus on market trends, consumer behaviour, workforce transitions, and the impact of the 4IR on skills development.
The monthly edition of WholeSay is out now which celebrates the latest milestones in within the Wholesale and Retail Sector as the W&RSETA marks 25 years. Updates include the launch of the newly developed Online Career Guidance Portal, the accreditation recognition of 41 historically disadvantaged skills development providers, the last CEO’s stakeholder engagements for 2024/25 as well as the ILDP Alumni launch.
The W&RSETA invites its stakeholders to submit proposals for themes or topics for the 2025/26 W&RSETA Research Agenda. The Research Agenda aims to improve the quality of labour market data and information that will enable effective and responsive skills development programmes in the Wholesale and Retail Sector.
